Alpha Protocol, PC, PS3, Xbox 360

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/

Alpha Protocol Alpha Protocol.

Made by the people who brought you Knights Of The Old Republic, a superb role-playing game set in the Star Wars universe, Alpha Protocol is set firmly on Earth, and sees you recruited by the usual clandestine spy organisation for whom the CIA is gauchely mainstream. Missions can be tackled through a combination of stealth, martial arts, guns and hacking skills, with the game's role-playing leanings making themselves known through the gradual drip feed of new skills and also in the game's conversations. These give you potential responses generally equating to suave, aggressive and neutral, all of which have an effect on your relationships with other characters and the events that play out later. The plot's hilariously twisty, stealth elements aren't as dreadful as they could be, but there is a slight ungainliness to the action that makes some boss fights a painful chore.

Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Nintendo DS, PC, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 Wii

Prince Of Persia, The Forgotten Sands

Prince Of Persia, The Forgotten Sands.

Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Nintendo DS, PC, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 & Wii

When the Prince's brother foolishly releases King Solomon's skeleton army on his already besieged city, it's up to the Prince to lend a fraternal hand in hacking them all to bits and resealing their magical tomb. Set immediately after Prince of Persia: Sands Of Time, this sees a return to that game's mechanics, favouring vertiginous architectural puzzles that need to be scaled using a repertoire of acrobatic jumps, swings, wall runs and the abilities to rewind time and solidify water, all punctuated by fights with increasingly large crowds of malefactors. The fluidity with which the Prince moves is once again a source of constant joy. A source of less joy is that this is effectively an extension of a game released in 2003, with few innovations to show for the intervening seven years, even if it's significantly more fun than moribund recent episodes of the series.

Farmville llega a las tiendas de 7 eleven

farmville 7-eleven slurpee machine
Yup, that's what you think it is -- 7-Eleven Slurpee machines plastered with images from FarmVille, Mafia Wars and YoVille. This history-making campaign marks the first big real-world push for any Facebook game and will likely be a big driver of Slurpee sales (and other snacks) during the promotion's six-week run. Heck, we haven't had a Slurpee in over a decade, and this might break our dry spell. For all the details of this promotion, read this guide: 7-Eleven & Zynga Promotion: What You Need to Know.

Games.com - The Blog! friend Eric von Coelln snapped these pics at his local 7-Eleven, and it really looks like anything that doesn't move has been plastered with FarmVille logos.
In his blog he wrote:
"I've been plenty busy lately (and thus blog-free for a while now) thanks to a new job with a game company here in New York City. But when I saw that Zynga was entering a partnership with 7-11 to promote its games, I knew I couldn't escape Zynga's grasp in my off-line world for long: They invaded the 7-11 around the corner from me."

FarmVille's userbase. The number? 80 million.

FarmVille
FarmVille
Zynga
Just about everyone who has used Facebook before has at least heard of the popular farming application/game FarmVille. If you've logged into Facebook in the last six months, chances are you've received some kind of notification related to the ridiculously popular social farming game. It seems you can't use Facebook and not know of it.

Indeed, you could have safely assumed that millions were playing the game, but now we know exactly just how many million populate FarmVille's userbase. The number? 80 million.

This data comes from AppData, who revealed yesterday that the FarmVille community recently passed the 80 million mark. According to AppData, the game, which is developed by Zynga, is the most-used Facebook application.

By comparison, FarmVille's rival, FarmTown, has about 13 million users.

Other popular Zynga-developed Facebook applications include Café World, FishVille, PetVille and Mafia Wars. http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/

30 years later: “Pac-Man” going gold in March 1982. It also went on sell 2.5 million copies.

The game which has very limited chomping circle has undergone many remakes with about 50 versions that have been launched.

The company has licensed about 294,000 arcade editions of the original with the funky rock song “Pac-Man” going gold in March 1982. It also went on sell 2.5 million copies.
At the time of the launch of Pac-Man there weren’t many arcade games available with the demand for new and creative games far outstripping supply. Before the launch of the game, Namco was a small Tokyo based company offering rocking-horse rides at departmental stores.

In 1979 a young designer at Namco Toru Iwatani was asked to make a different kind of a game suing pastel colours that would appeal to the ladies. Iwatani called his team’s creation as Puckman. Realizing that American users would probably replace the P with an F it was renamed as Pac-Man.

At the time of the launch the company didn’t think that the game would be big hit. But it went to become the worldwide phenomenon that it is today. Atari had acquired the licenses to Namco games in 1978 decided to move on its Pac-Man license in late 1981.

Today, Namco is today one of the most recognizable video games in the US and according to the Guinness World Records 2010, majority of Americans can identify the yellow sphere ahead of Nintendo’s Mario.

The simplicity of the game has been the winner and has ensured its sustainability. The game didn’t need a manual to understand it. And that was the reason for its survival. Also the rules of the game were simple, the player has to navigate the maze, eat the dots and avoid the ghosts. The game also managed to draw a lot of female players as compared to other games this one did not involve shooting.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a 3D platform game developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo for the Wii.

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/

It is the sequel to Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been announced in the 2009 edition of E3 will be released on May 23, 2010. [2] This is the first time since the SNES era that has left more than Mario (series of platforms) in a same console (regardless of portable consoles. Ex: New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 DS). Little is known about this game, but apparently in the trailer, Mario farewell to the Planetarium and take a kind of ship itself, which consists of a star with the shape of his head. It is drills, Toads, flashes, lots of vegetation, etc ... Mario's lead by galaxies and from there fly in the game like anterior.Se think mario's ship is actually the planet you woke mario, encontradose several flashes and Rosalina. Has also been seen that the navigation system is different from the first game, because now will seem a bit like classic Mario games, for worlds.

Mario can ride Yoshi in addition, which will have special abilities, and we again become Bee Mario. Each Yoshi will have his own ability as shown in the trailers. The green Yoshi will have no special ability, but known as the orange and blue will have a special skill.

Women are increasingly involved in role-playing games and now form a larger contingent of PC gamers than men

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/

When I was a child, I never knew that computers, or computer games, were supposed to be "for boys". To me, the Sinclair game Cyber Rats wasn't so far away from the board game Mousetrap, and my Snoopy Tennis hand-held game was a just more exciting kind of travel solitaire. Board games weren't gendered; why would computer games be?

I think it was only when I arrived at university and realised that everyone playing Doom in the college computer room was a man, that I started to feel out of place. In my 20s I certainly felt my gaming habit was unusual among my female friends, though I couldn't work out why.

The traditional explanation has been that women aren't as interested in computers, maths or technology. But I wonder if that's the whole story. In her book The Playful Self, Rebecca Abrams suggests that while feminism has made great strides in getting women's work taken more seriously, it hasn't addressed the importance of women's play. Men's sports are given more media time than women's, arcades and pool halls have traditionally been very masculine environments, as have other gaming venues such as betting shops and poker clubs.

The signs are that the gender balance of computer games is changing, though. Manufacturers are attempting to target women – and not only with pink consoles. Estimates are that at least 60% of players of The Sims are women. Women are increasingly involved in role-playing games and now form a larger contingent of PC gamers than men. And games such as Mass Effect and Fable 2 allow players to choose whether their character is male or female: a welcome innovation for women tired of playing as male characters.

This is nothing but good news. I had it right when I was eight: play doesn't have a gender, and neither does the joy of gaming.

Happy Aquarium is a so-called social game that can be played on Facebook.

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/

The player starts out with one fish tank and a couple of fish. The tank has to be cleaned every (real time) day, as well as the fish being fed.

Fish will grow in size over time. Every day fish can be trained by playing a simple mini-game where the fish swims to the left of a course and the player has to click on all the harmful elements such as fishing lines, cat paws and sea mines.

Another daily mini-game is the treasure hunt. Here the player can control one of his or her fish directly with the mouse in order to collect coins in a coral reef.

Coins can be used to buy new fish and decorations for the fishing tank. Aside from coins there's also pearls which allow the player to buy more unique items but who are less easily gained. Additionally Facebook Credits can only be bought with real money and can also be used to bypass pearls. Money can also be used to expand the tank size to allow for more fish per tank or to buy additional tanks.

Players can visit friends to find more coins and collectible items and to clean their bowl for additional experience points and coins. Friends can also be placed on an expedition ship which (when full) can be set to sail out in search of treasure.

Most actions in the game grant the player experience points. Experience points determine the level of the player, high levels unlock more features such as additional fish tanks.

If the player logs in every day for two consecutive weeks he or she gains a frog to place in the aquarium.

Farmville Screenshot Zynga, the company behind "Farmville" and many other popular social games, are to form an alliance with Japanese investment firm

By far the most successful publisher on Facebook, Zynga's games are played by up to 252 million users a month, according to AppData. The majority of these players are from the US, where the popularity of social networking has rocketed over the past three years, and has coaxed many casual gamers into spending more time at their PC monitor.

Now Facebook's growth has started to slow down, Zynga's titles are beginning to lose traffic. The main reason for the company's suggested alliance with Softbank is so they can begin international expansions that'll help pick up the lag from the wilt in the market.

With projects such as Farmville.com, Zynga are becoming increasingly diverse in order to maintain their momentum. Moreover, many Asian gamers are used to playing games for free and having the option to pay real money for virtual goods- a business model that Zynga will no doubt have to adopt in order to dominate globally.

The alliance isn't officially announced as of yet, as a spokeswoman for Zynga stated, “We are focused on building the best social game experience for our customers and have no news to announce at this time.”

President Dmitry Medvedev has decided that what the Glorious Motherland needs is its own computer games industry.

King Putin's Grand Vizier President Dmitry Medvedev has decided that what the Glorious Motherland needs is its own computer games industry.

Never mind freeing the country from the grip of the Russian mob, corruption, and the oligarchs, Medvedev feels that a nation is not truly right with itself unless it has made its own set of games.

Medvedev feels that foreign games had flooded the Russian market but they could not be counted on. After all they were made by people who did not understand Russia's unique cultural circumstances which made it different from the rest of the world.

Medvedev visited a factory of computers and computer games producer Craftway and was shown a game called "Il-2 Fighter," which is set in World War II and features Russian combat aircraft.

"This is a good way to see the development of events at that time," Medvedev said. After all computer games do not often deal with the fact that Russia was ruled by a deranged crypto fascist who ordered wholesale genocide of his own people and got away with it because he was on the winning side during World Wa II.

Il-2 shows the heroism of the Russian people when fighting foreign fascism, it does not show the game winner being dragged off to a Gulag because he was more popular than Stalin, which happened to the heroes of Leningrad.

Mededev said that nowadays teenagers are more interested in playing computer games than reading books.

There’s apparently some drama happening between Facebook and Zynga, maker of the wildly popular social games Farmville, Cafe World and Mafia Wars.

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/There’s apparently some drama happening between Facebook and Zynga, maker of the wildly popular social games Farmville, Cafe World and Mafia Wars.

The beef is primarily about Facebook forcing game developers to use Facebook Credits for in-game purchases, says TechCrunch’s anonymous sources. Facebook takes a 30 percent cut of all Credits transactions, and Zynga makes a lot of money by selling items that speed people’s progress through the game. You can see why there’s tension.

In case things go from bad to worse, Zynga’s reportedly preparing its own social gaming site, and is prepared to leave Facebook completely.

I agree with CNet’s Daniel Terdiman that both sites need each other. Facebook relies on Zynga for daily traffic — as of December more than 26 million people played Farmville every day — and Zynga uses Facebook as the primary platform for all those users. Moving them would not be easy.

Still, Zynga depends more on Facebook than vice versa because of the very nature of its games. Farmville’s biggest critics note that the game is not fun, per se, but it’s addictive. In a fascinating essay on what’s wrong with this game, SUNY Buffalo professor A. J. Patrick Liszkiewicz explains:

"The secret to Farmville’s popularity is neither gameplay nor aesthetics. Farmville is popular because in [sic] entangles users in a web of social obligations. When users log into Facebook, they are reminded that their neighbors have sent them gifts, posted bonuses on their walls, and helped with each others’ farms. In turn, they are obligated to return the courtesies."

Without Facebook, Zynga loses this crucial layer of interaction between friends, the meta-game that makes Farmville worth playing. Zynga Live could try and replicate it, but it’ll never be as tightly woven as Facebook’s existing network.

If Zynga leaves Facebook completely, as the company has reportedly threatened, it would be suicide. Farmville is not a good enough game to stand on its own. It needs the social structure of Facebook more than Facebook needs Zynga in particular. After all, there’s no shortage of imitators who would love to take Farmville’s place atop the app charts.

FarmVille creator Zynga’s monthly active Facebook users have sharply declined.

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/
FarmVille creator Zynga’s monthly active Facebook users have sharply declined. Two weeks ago, the company behind the hugely popular “Mafia Wars,” “Treasure Isle,” and of course, social gaming juggernaut “FarmVille, lost 3.1 million active users. In the last week, 4.2 million more active players fell by the wayside, according to SecondShares. The industry monitor reports that Zynga currently has 244 million active users.

These rapid declines may be due to the fact that Facebook recently changed how members receive notifications and gift requests. As of March 1, Facebook no longer delivers application notifications. These seemingly-constant and often cluttering alerts on Facebook served as free advertising for “FarmVille” and other social network games, regularly reminding users to play.

Things may get worse for Zynga as other video game companies enter the Facebook ring. EA, the company behind “Battlefield: Bad Company 2,” spent $300 million for Zynga competitor Playfish last year, showing a significant investment in the future of social gaming. EA's first game, “FIFA Superstars,” is reportedly coming to Facebook soon.

Every FarmVille Freak should know a fake FarmVille group page, scam offer, or newsfeed posting because we know that you have to work hard for your farm cash and exclusive items and that merely clicking on a link will not reap the promised rewards.

Yet, still many newbies or uninformed farmers continue to add these fake pages and join scam groups. So if you or someone you know insists on joining these scam groups hoping that they will actually work, the picture of the ribbon below is the only reward you can ever expect to receive.

Please note, this ribbon is not real or unreleased. Its sole purpose is for sarcasm and laughs.

http://jugar-online.blogspot.com/

Happy Aquarium developer Crowdstar announced today that a new set of Pirate-themed props will soon be released in the Happy Aquarium shop. A few (a pirate ship and a pirate flag) are already available.

Specifically singled out as coming soon: Cap’n Crook, Ancient Treasure Map, Antique Masthead, and Pirate Skull.

A specific ETA for these new items was not given, but since a few of them have already made their way into the game, player likely won’t be waiting for long.
